Robert Half Financial Services are hiring for an Accountant role for an Investment firm located in midtown Manhattan New York. Our client requires a CPA and 2+ years Audit experience at a Big 4/Public Accounting firm covering Financial Services industry clients. Must have knowledge of GAAP, Month End Close, Credit/Debit, Cash Reconciliation and Cash Flow Analysis. The role is mainly remote with the ability to come into the midtown Manhattan office as required.

This Accountant role is a generalist position covering a range of duties across corporate accounting, financial reporting, fund accounting, purchase accounting, treasury, and FP&A

Responsibilities:

Corporate & Technical Accounting

1. Execute month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidations
2. Assist with acquisition and investment accounting, including identification and tracking of intangibles
3. Support development and enhancement of internal controls, policies, and accounting processes

Fund & Financial Accounting

1. Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and related schedules
2. Reconcile investments, capital accounts, and transaction activity
3. Support audit processes and collaborate with internal teams and third-party specialists on fair value

Treasury

1. Manage cash activity, reconciliations, wire transfers, and funding requirements
2. Monitor liquidity and report on capital needs

FP&A

1. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
2. Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and analysis

Qualifications:

1. CPA
2. 2+ years Audit experience at a Big 4/Public Accounting firm covering Financial Services industry clients
3. Must have knowledge of GAAP, Month End Close, Credit/Debit, Cash Reconciliation and Cash Flow Analysis
4. Experience with specialty finance, fair value, derivatives, securitization or NetSuite preferred
5. Bachelor or Master in Accounting

The Accountant role is mainly remote but requires the ability to come into the midtown Manhattan office, so please only apply if you are able to travel to this location, have relevant experience for the role and are eligible to work in the United States. The salary is flexible dependent on experience, the range is $100-115k base plus bonus.
